On December 17, 1970, Bobby Darin guest starred on The Flip Wilson Show. The other guests on this episode included Sid Caesar and B.B. King.
Bobby and Flip were good friends. During the 1960's, Bobby was instrumental in getting Flip Wilson as his Las Vegas opening act. Then Flip returned the favor when he got his own NBC variety series by having Bobby on his show a total of five times. Four Darin appearances came during the first season.

One comedy skit on the program featured Bobby as a "hippie" singer.

Another comedy skit had Bobby portraying a "Snidley Whiplash" character.

Bobby also joined Flip for "Paddlin' Madelin' Home."
